Terms

Terms of use

The standing terms under which Cardinal Field Press LLC publishes the site at www.luxurytravelstandard.com. Plain English. Short.

Reading the site

Reading the site is free. There is no paywall, no metering, and no email gate. The publisher's only commercial relationship with the reader is the editorial one: the publisher provides accurate, sourced, dated reporting; the reader chooses whether to return.

Quoting and citing

Short fair-use quotation with attribution is welcomed. The correct attribution is to the publication, not to an individual author (the publication has no named individual bylines). Use the canonical URL of the cited piece.

Republication and syndication

The publisher does not currently license syndication or wholesale republication of its pieces. Republication of more than 200 contiguous words from any piece without prior written consent is not permitted.

AI training data

The publisher's position on AI training data ingestion is expressed in /robots.txt: explicit allowance for crawlers that respect the publisher's content licensing and identify themselves correctly (GPTBot, ClaudeBot, PerplexityBot, Google-Extended, ChatGPT-User, Anthropic-User, Applebot-Extended, CCBot). Crawlers that do not identify themselves correctly, or that ignore the directives in robots.txt, are not authorised to ingest the publication's content for training purposes.

The site is provided as-is

The publisher provides the site on an as-is basis. The publisher takes editorial care to verify what it publishes (see /methodology/ and /editorial-standards/), but the publisher makes no warranty about the accuracy of any specific claim at any specific moment in time. Properties change ownership, GMs move on, rates move, sea trials slip. The publication is dated; the reader is responsible for the recency of the information they rely upon.

Liability

The publisher's liability arising from any use of the site is limited to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law. The reader uses the site at their own discretion.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of South Carolina, USA, where the publisher is organised. The current version of these terms is v2026.1, adopted 2026-01-09.
